Genin Program · Ages 4–7 · Seattle
They'll think they're playing. They're building who they become.
Youth jiu-jitsu built on games, not drills. In about 45 minutes, your child moves, problem-solves, and grapples with other kids — and walks out a little more adaptable, resilient, and confident than they walked in.
The Genin Program
Jiu-jitsu for youth ages 4–7.
In ninja stories, genin is the first rank — the beginners who are just starting to learn what they're capable of. That's who this program is for.
Every class is built around games. Kids learn to push, pull, balance, escape, and hold on by playing — not by standing in lines repeating the same move. It's the same approach we use with our adults at Identity: real skills, learned through play and problem-solving.
No experience needed. Your child's first class is free.

What They Take Home
A.R.C. — the real reason we're here.
Jiu-jitsu is the vehicle. These three traits are the destination — and they carry off the mat into school, friendships, and everything else.
Adaptability
Games change, partners change, positions change. Kids learn to read what's happening and adjust — instead of freezing when the plan stops working.
Resilience
Getting stuck is part of every round. Kids practice staying calm, trying again, and working their way out — hundreds of times, in a safe setting.
Confidence
Not the loud kind. The quiet kind that comes from doing something hard and knowing you can do it again.
ARC is built with consistency. Most families see it show up over 6–12 months of regular attendance.

Common questions from parents.
My child has never done a martial art. Is that okay?
Yes. The Genin Program is built for beginners ages 4–7. No experience needed.
What does "games-based" mean?
Instead of lining up and repeating a technique, kids play structured games that teach grappling skills — balance, escapes, control. They're learning the whole time; it just feels like play.
How long until I see a difference?
Kids usually have fun right away. The bigger changes — adaptability, resilience, and confidence — tend to show up over 6–12 months of consistent attendance.
Once or twice a week?
Once a week ($129/month) is a great start. Twice a week ($179/month) builds skills — and ARC — faster. Either way, the first class is free.
