Community Week · Free · First Week of Every Month · Seattle
Curious about jiu-jitsu? Come train with us for a full week — free.
Community Week is how we open our doors. The first week of every month, all Intro Class, Foundations, and All Levels classes are completely free. No experience required. No credit card. No pressure to join. Just come in and train.
What Is Community Week
A full week on the mat. No strings attached.
Community Week is our way of saying: we're here, we want to invite you into our space, and we want to show you what we're all about. If you've ever been curious about jiu-jitsu but didn't know where to start — this is it.
For an entire week, you can attend any Intro Class, Foundations, or All Levels class on our schedule. Train once. Train every day. It's up to you. You'll work with real training partners, learn real techniques, and experience what class actually feels like — not a watered-down demo.
No payment info. No commitment. No follow-up sales calls. Just a week of training to see if this is something you want in your life.

What Comes After Community Week
Loved it? Keep going for the rest of the month.
At the end of Community Week, if you want to keep training, we'll offer you the rest of the month for just $97. Same classes, same schedule, same community — just keep showing up.
There's no long-term contract. No high-pressure upsell. After your first month, we'll talk about full membership options — but only if you're ready. Most people who train for a month already know.
And if you attend Community Week and decide jiu-jitsu isn't for you: that's also a good outcome. You'll know for certain, it cost you nothing, and you spent a week doing something you've probably been curious about for a while.
Bringing a friend? Come together — you can train side by side.

Before You Ask
Questions everyone has before their first class.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. Community Week is specifically for people who've never tried jiu-jitsu. Everyone starts from the same place.
Will I get hurt?
Beginner classes are controlled and supervised. You will not be thrown into live sparring on day one. Most people leave their first class tired, not sore.
What do I need to bring or wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes — shorts and a t-shirt or rash guard work great. No zippers. Every Community Week class is no-gi, so you don't need a gi or any other gear.
What's the catch?
There isn't one. No credit card required. No auto-enrollment. No follow-up sales calls. At the end of the week, we'll let you know how to continue if you want to — that's it.
I'm not athletic / too old / too young — can I still come?
Yes. Jiu-jitsu is a technique game, not a fitness game. Community Week is designed for all ages, body types, and fitness levels. If you can get yourself to the gym, you're qualified.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Like every gym, we ask you to sign a standard liability waiver. Takes 60 seconds — we'll email it before your first class so you arrive with it already done.
What Members Say
The room speaks for itself.
from 40+ Google reviewsI have never played a combat sport in my entire life and now I am almost a year in this gym. It feels both a place for growth and nourishment — physically and mentally.
I checked out about 5 other gyms in the area before I came here. Best gym I have ever trained at.
The only third space where you build a real community. Diverse and welcoming. No egos. They don't hand out promotions easily which is how you know it's legit.
I'm a blue belt and mostly train no-gi. Tuan's CLA classes focus on problem solving and live situations instead of just drilling moves — has helped my game quite a bit.
One of the best gyms in Seattle. The vibe is welcoming and friendly. My favorite part is the ecological / CLA-based approach to training.
I joined Identity almost two years ago with no prior martial arts experience and found that I'd accidentally joined one of the best communities I've ever been a part of.
